I start to kick off my ‘Promote Your Brand by Online Marketing’ series from today.  Today’s Topic: Tips  to promote your Brand by Email Marketing

Before all the Tips sharing, I assume your company already builds website, which is the essential part when you want to promote your brand by Online Marketing.

Promote your Brand by Email Marketing you need to consider below steps and tips:

1. Email Marketing Tool. Select suitable email marketing tool is foundation of leading your Email Marketing success. Good tools are prerequisite to the successful execution of a job. There are many Email Marketing Service Providers in the Market, try to sign up some of them and select the one best suit for your business. 2. Put Email Subscription Box on you website. Promote your Email subscription box on your website, home page, product page, promotion page and everywhere. Give a chance to your web visitor aka potential customer to know your updated information by subscribing your Email Newsletter.

3. Build & maintain your own email list. Most of the Email Marketing Service Provide Database Management functions in their Email Marketing Tool. 8. Response your customer’s feedback. You will get a lot of customer’s feedback by simply replying your Newsletter. Use this great chance to communicate with your customer will highly benefit your brand.

Yes, Email Marketing & Newsletter are the best efficient way to do online marketing, And I know  most of you have already boost your own Email marketing and regularly delivered e-Newsletter to your subscription, and I also believe that you want to win more subscription which may equals to ‘more traffic’ to your website and bring you more profit, and today I would like to share some Tips:

1.  Promote your ’subscription box’ everywhere. Your website, blog, embed in your flash Ad, even ask people if they would like to subscribe your Email Newsletter in the post-sale survey.

2. Keep the subscription question Simple! Just Name plus Email Address is good enough for you to spread your information to your subscribers.

3. Provide  offer to attract more subscription.  “Subscribe now to Win a iPod ” or “Subscribe for Free to download E-Book with values of $199 ” always could help you to win more subscribers.

4. Refer to a friends. Add a ‘Refer to a friend’ button to encourage your readers introduce their friends to subscribe your list by some intensive programs like “Invite your 3 friends to join, your account will be updated to Exclusive Membership”

5. Post your previous Newsletters on your website. You will get more chances for your content be searched by potential subscriber, if they are interesting in it, they will subscribe with no doubt.

6. Deliver valuable content to current subscribers. People talk, they will forward and spread your valuable information to their friends and peers who are also have highly potential to be your subscriber.

1. Be professional in Email. No one will know how ‘Small’ of your business will be via Email, it’s your chance to ‘act’ as brand company, decorate your Email as big company.

2. Hire  contractor to create a Email template. I highly suggest you to hire a professional designer to help you to create a trim, clean, organized, professional Email template.  It really worth to put a little mount of investment on here.

4. Leverage big company’s brand.  Since you are still small, some times you need to leverage big company’s brand as Partner of Google,  Reseller of IBM to get people’s trust.

8 Tips to build effective Landing Page

After you considered email subject, content and call to action button, want to blast your email in your Email Marketing Campaign program, Please keep in mind that you need to build a effective, attractive and high conversions Landing Page, here are some Tips for your reference:

1.  Make sure the landing page content should be highly relevant with your email content. Visit won’t expect a totally different topic after he click the ‘attractive’ call to action button in email.

2. Don’t be too wordy. Use some graphs and appropriate pictures to make the landing page layout more attractive.

3.  Strong Call to Action. You don’t want your visitor just stopped by or bounced from your landing page without any actions. Design a Strong, attractive call to action button as you did in the email. (Large and Red button always good choice)

4.  Put important content in the top of the landing page. visitors always to rush to bounced from your landing page, so put your most valuable content on top spot of the page.

5. Offers. Great offers can bring you more registrations

6. Testimonial or successful story. Show some testimonials or successful story is wildly used when you promote your product in landing page, let your product or customer talk by themselves.

7.  Trust badge or Logo. put all honor and award of this product in the page will drive your visitor put more credit on it.

8.  Be sure your page is easy to load. No Bugs, can be loaded in a second, you don’t want waste your visitors time, won’t you?

2008 Email Marketing Benchmark Report

I recieved a good report from Experian Market Service today which named ‘The 2009 digital marketer:Benchmark and trend report‘(3.45MB). The chapter of Email Marketing Benchmark realy worth to share with you for your reference.

Bounce rates
Bounce rates decreased in the first quarter of the year and then began to increase steadily. The higher numbers in the latter part of the year might be attributed to an increase in mailings to inactive groups or segments that are not mailed to as frequently during the year.

Open rates
Total and unique open rates remained steady throughout the year, and, with the exception of December, open rates did not decrease significantly in the second half of the year as volumes climbed.

Click rates
After March, total click rates fell one percentage point, with unique rates falling only half a point. The total and unique click rates remained relatively steady throughout the second half of the year, indicating consistent subscriber engagement in commercial e-mails.
